Closing Concert – Bongeziwe Mabandla presents iiMini / with Tiago Correia – Paulo

An audio-visual presentation of the third album and most recent work by South African singer Bongeziwe Mabandla, an album recorded and produced by Mozambican Tiago Correia-Paulo. Much of this work was recorded in the city of Maputo in 2019, so much so that the culmination of these sessions was the filming of the album’s first video clip on the streets of the city, in spontaneous mode, when leaving the studio at the end of the last night of capture.
Because of this recent affinity for Maputo and the album being produced by a Mozambican, it was Bongeziwe’s personal decision to make an intimate presentation of this work in Maputo, and at CCFM … even during these complicated times.
It is important that the music does not stop, and that it also serves to heal the traumas of all these quarantines and restrictions. A way to close the Franco-Mozambican Cultural Center’s concert year.

Uma apresentação áudio-visual do terceiro álbum e mais recente trabalho do cantor sul-africano Bongeziwe Mabandla, um álbum gravado e produzido pelo moçambicano Tiago Correia-Paulo. Grande parte deste trabalho foi registado na cidade de Maputo em 2019, tanto que o culminar destas sessões foi a filmagem do primeiro vídeo-clip do álbum nas ruas da cidade, em modo espontâneo, ao sair do estúdio no fim da última noite de captação.
Por causa desta recente afinidade por Maputo e por o álbum ter sido produzido por um moçambicano, foi uma decisão pessoal de Bongeziwe fazer uma apresentação íntima deste trabalho em Maputo, e no CCFM… mesmo durante estes tempos complicados.
É importante que a música não pare, e que ela também sirva para sarar os traumas de todas estas quarentenas e restrições. Uma maneira de fechar o ano de concertos do Centro Cultural Franco-Moçambicano.
