Hey all! It’s time to stop getting bored and go out there and have a good time!

A worldwide pandemic has hit us, but as always, we get up and we move on. There’s nothing better to heal a human spirit off of any kind of pain, individual or collective, than sharing unforgettable moments with friends, families, and loved ones.

The Covid-19 pandemic tried to take that God-given gift away from us, by locking us down, social distancing us and even trying to divorce us from the most precious virtue that unites and identifies us as a human family, which is the human smile by arresting us behind face-masks bars.

The year 2020 is coming to an end. Christmas is knocking on doors and the VILLAIN covid-19 is starting to show signs of fragilities too. This means that life is slowly, slowly going back to normal, and so are the in-person events.

Following this marvelous trend, I would like to propose to you the following events for week 6-12 December:

1st Event – Cine Club and Debate

AvóDezanove and the Secret of the Soviet “by João Ribeiro (Mozambique, 2019, 94’)

AvoDezanove and the Secret of the Soviet is a Mozambican, kid-friendly film that features Mozambican actors. It is an adaptation of Onjaki’s novel, in which the author draws on his childhood memories to build a fantasy where reality and magic blend together. Everything takes place in a city beyond Time and Geography, in an unidentified neighborhood, which thus gains almost mythological contours. This is where Jaki lives, in a house full of cousins, ruled with an iron hand by grandmother Agnette and haunted by the mysterious figure of grandmother Catarina.
